Spring Reopening Letter #1 3/5

I appreciate the phenomenal job, you as parents, have done during this unprecedented time. I know it has not been easy for anyone, but you have persevered and we are hopefully seeing a light at the end of a very long tunnel. We are also excited to announce that teachers and staff at Bella Mente became eligible for vaccination Wednesday, March 3.

I am hopeful as I reach out to you today. As you may have seen, the Governor has signed legislation, AB 86, for schools to open as soon as they can do so safely. In addition, vaccine rates are going up and COVID case rates are going down. Due to these recent changes, at their regularly scheduled meeting, the Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, March 9, to revisit reopening onsite in a limited capacity, as early as mid-April.

To help us in this accelerated reopening plan, we will send a new survey to parents, Wednesday, March 10, asking them to choose how they would like their child to attend school for the remainder of the year (hybrid or distance learning only). It is crucial families complete the survey by Friday, March 12, 5pm. Students will have the option to remain on distance learning for the remainder of the year.

We invite you to join us virtually as our board discusses the reopening at our next meeting, Tuesday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. by clicking the button below, or by calling (562) 247-8422, Enter audio access code 690-064-111.

Public comments can be emailed to Jennifer Meeker at jmeeker@bellamentecharter.org.

In addition, please know our Principal and I will be available for questions at the next Answers with McQuestion sessions on Thursday, March 11, at:
