Principal’s Message – Week 8

Dear Bella Families,

Happy Friday! We have had a productive week at Bella! Our middle school voted on the student council positions. We have scholars reviving the Green Team and helping clean up our campus. We have also begun expanding our recycling program and composting program!

As the weather changes, please remember to send your child to school in dress code appropriate attire. Read our dress code here. To help us get any lost jackets back to your family, be sure to write your scholar’s last name on the tag. We also have a lost and found right outside the pedestrian gate.

Has your scholar been off campus participating in Independent Study? It is your responsibility as the parent/guardian to ensure your scholar is completing all assigned work. If your scholar needs help, please email your scholar’s teacher for assistance.

Teachers have reported an increasing number of tardy students who are missing the beginning of class. Reminder, scholars may arrive up to 15 minutes before their start time. (Siblings may arrive early with their older siblings.) Arriving late to school is detrimental to your child and the peers in their classroom.

Beginning Tuesday, the front gate will be closed from 8:20-8:45am. Lower Elementary scholars should arrive no later than 8:15am.

Also beginning on Monday, the front office will not be open between 2:40pm and 3:30pm to reduce carline duties for teachers and allow them to begin offering after school intervention for our scholars. If you need to pick up your scholar early, please do so before 2:40pm.

Safety Reminder:

Parking on Huff and walking into school is not permitted. Doing so creates an unsafe environment for our scholars and staff. If you would like your child to walk in, please park in the upper parking lot and have your child follow the painted crosswalks. You will need to exit via the dismissal line onto Huff as we cannot have traffic exit onto Emerald during drop off.

Our scholars are doing a great job in our 1st Annual Read-A-Thon! Our scholars have read 17,905 total minutes!! Scholars have also raised over $7,000 for hands-on experiences. It is not too late to help raise funds for hands-on programming. Be sure to tell grandparents, friends, aunts and uncles to sponsor. We have until October 15th!

I want to thank you for your wonderful patience during rainy day drop off or dismissal! I know the rain can be inconvenient, but how thankful we are to finally see some!

Have a wonderful weekend!
