Week 30: 04/12 – 04/16/2021
Dear Bella Mente Families,
We did it!! We have completed our first week of hybrid and distance learning! Our scholars have been amazing and all our staff have worked hard to make it a great week back for all students! Big shout out to teachers, scholars, and parents!
We have Cooking it Up next week, Tuesday, 4/20/21 at 5pm! Please join us for the fun!
Thank you all for working with us on following the uniform policy. I am not asking parents to have logos on shirts since we are so close to the end of the year and I understand that your scholar grows so much during a short period of time! Please do the best you can to follow our colors and I understand that polo shirts seem to be in short supply. T-shirts in the correct colors will be acceptable if you can’t find polo shirts. We will be having our Care Closet online soon. Our care closet has uniforms that have been donated by students that have outgrown them. They are available for a small donation.
Some parents have requested our morning session over our afternoon session. We do have a waitlist and will be reevaluating numbers to see if we have room in the morning session after the second week we are back for hybrid learning. At that time we will also evaluate if we have room for any students who would like to switch to hybrid. Pivot, pivot, pivot or as our staff says we just keep dancing! Our quote for this year is –
The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Alan Watts
We are so excited to be developing new goals for Bella this year and need all of your input. As part of the state’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), school districts, county offices of education and charter schools are required to develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) to report on the funds distributed through the LCFF.
The LCAP is required to identify annual goals, specific actions geared toward implementing those goals, and must measure progress for student groups across multiple performance indicators based on eight priorities set by the State.
The priorities must be aligned to the Local Education Agency (LEA)’s spending plan to ensure alignment of projected spending toward goals and services.
Our proposed goals are below. We will be sending out a survey for your input and also a page on our website where you can review our draft and make comments or suggestions. Bella, your school community and you are vital in developing what we focus on for the next three years.
Goal 1 – Bella Mente will offer rigorous curriculum along with targeted interventions to support academic growth in ELA and math for all scholars.
Goal 2 – Bella Mente will provide a safe community for all scholars which encourages social and emotional development, strong staff/scholar relationships, and a sense of belonging.
Goal 3 – Bella Mente will develop ways to increase parent involvement.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! I look forward to working with you on the LCAP and really enjoy my time with you at Answers with McQuestion!
As always, we at Bella want to thank you for your trust, patience, and kindness as we work together to make this a great year for all!
Enjoy and stay safe and healthy!
