As you may have heard, today California Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Department of Public Health announced plans to make masks strongly recommended but not required for staff and students at K-12 schools starting March 12, 2022.
Bella Mente Academies will no longer require masks to be worn inside, beginning Monday, March 14. Students and staff may continue to wear a face covering if they choose to do so.
Some parents may be concerned about sending their child to school knowing some students may not be wearing masks. We understand and want to remind you that we still have taken additional precautions. We will be practicing social distancing where practical, allowing and encouraging face masks for whoever wants to continue to wear one, and have updated our HVAC and air filtration systems. In addition, we will continue to limit the number of students who mix indoors.
For parents who would prefer to have their students learning from home, please reach out to your child’s teacher for information on Independent Study.
As a reminder, if your child is sick and showing any symptoms, they should stay home until symptoms resolve.
Throughout the pandemic, schools have been among the safest places for students to be, with most virus transmission happening off-campus. Schools will continue using safety measures to slow the spread of COVID-19, including improved ventilation and enhanced cleaning protocols.
Thank you for the flexibility you have demonstrated over the past two years in supporting our students and school community.
