About us
The mission of Bella Mente Academies is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire an education based on a quality curriculum founded on the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori.
Bella Mente Montessori Academy is a free, public charter school, chartered by the Vista Unified School District.
We are located at 1737 W. Vista Way, Vista, CA 92083 on over three acres with two school buildings totaling nearly 27,000 square feet including a 750 person occupancy, 3,100 square foot auditorium with a stage, a student library, and 26 classrooms.
Our two-story building was newly renovated and expansion was completed in the winter of 2016.
What makes us different?
Bella Mente is proud to offer an authentic Montessori education with classrooms limited to a 1:28 teacher/student ratio and part time classroom aide.
Our goal is to receive full American Montessori Society Accreditation (AMS) symbolizing our dedication to the Montessori method. Bella Mente is currently an Initiate member of AMS.
All of our experienced Montessori teachers hold certification from a Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) approved program. Teachers in our school who do not yet hold certification are supervised by a trained Lead Teacher and are involved in continual Professional Development to ensure we are offering a high quality program.
Global Citizen
Students educated under the Montessori philosophy are given the tools necessary to thrive in a diverse cultural global society.
Cultural Education
Developing the whole child includes providing education in the visual and musical arts, national and world history and foreign languages.
Science Education
As recommended by the National Science Teachers Association, students require early and frequent experiences in science to increase problem solving skills later in life.
Health and Nutrition Education
Bella Mente understands the importance of developing health conscious habits in early childhood for a lifetime of good health.
Sustainability
Children are the next stewards of the planet and must learn the importance of reducing their personal impact on the environment.
Bella Mente Montessori Academy offers equal educational and employment opportunities, regardless of sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, age, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability.
